Montreal's 7th Annual Anarchist Bookfair

The weekend of May 20-21, 2006, marked the 7th Annual Montreal Bookfair. Together with the month-long Festival of Anarchy, it's the largest anarchist event in North America, attracting both anarchists, and those who are curious about anarchism.

This year, the bookfair consisted of over 100 vendors, booksellers, political groups and zinesters, from all over Montreal, Quebec, North America, as well as from Latin America and Europe. Accompanying the bookfair are workshops on varied and diverse anarchist themes, as well as presentations, films, art and a kids and parents program. Proceeds from the bookfair will help support an anarchist library in Mexico City, an anarchist press in Montreal, as well as the Six Nations Land Reclamation Project. These photos provide a glimpse into the community that comes together each year at the bookfair.
