Beirut Blast on Monot Street....

On Friday July 22nd a bomb ripped through Monot street in downtown Beirut, which is a popular site for bars and restaurants. The blast wounded 12 people and is widely viewed as an attempt to destabilize Lebanon, in the days after the formation of the newgovernment. It remains unclear who carried out the blast, which took place hours after U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice made a surprise visit to Beirut.
